At the RFG Conference, Knorr-Bremse Rail UK was requested to present their latest technological advancements. Their PowerPoint was extremely technical in appearance, with lots of diagrams and text. The Knorr-Bremse Rail UK team asked us to add sparkle to their presentation by bringing concepts to life with animation.

The first challenge was to understand how the train braking system worked so that we could show the information being collected and sent through the digital network. The next step was to animate the train moving with the braking system in operation.

We built some sections as loops to integrate the animated video files into the PowerPoint. The video kept playing until the presenter selected the next slide, giving the speaker time to describe how the technology worked. In other sections, the animations would pause and then hold on static slides until the presenter chose to continue. By using these methods, the presenter had full control over the slide timings.

The presentation was seen as a breakthrough for Knorr-Bremse with members of the RFG commenting that this was the most engaging technical presentation they had ever seen.
